Local Produce

Richard Tipping and Michael Chapman

Site: Customs House Forecourt

This is an Installation of large-scale aluminium slabs in the forecourt of Customs House. This formal investigation of the site aims to revisit ideas of ‘customs’ once associated with the site. The local produce alluded to in the title is the production of aluminium from nearby Tomago. The formal arrangement of the slabs and the pedestrian use of the space will link the building, the harbour and the products the city uses. This project is sponsored by Tomago Aluminium.
